We are on our way!

We did it! Thanks to so many of you, we have surpassed the needed $6000 to begin the Home with Friends ministry. We already have a family that we are working with. Thank you for helping this family!

There will be on-going fundraising for Home with Friends as needs arise for the family and also as we think ahead to our next family. Please consider a monthly or otherwise regular donation to the program. Thank you for your help.

We're really passionate about bringing people together in these days. Charity is important, but the beauty of Home with Friends is that it brings together various people from the community to be together as we fight homelessness, one family at a time.

All donations are tax-deductible and if using the donate button on this page are secure via Paypal.

Home with Friends is a collaboration between three agencies, Friends of the Homeless of the South Shore, Sanger Center for Compassion in Quincy, and Starlight Ministries (of Emmanuel Gospel Center) in Boston. Home with Friends is a model in which our church mentoring team works with a social worker to come alongside a family on the brink of homelessness. While our church birthed FHSS in the mid-1980s - a non-profit that houses over 20 families every night in addition to many other services - we are excited how Home with Friends will challenge the members of our church to minister directly with homeless families alongside the responsible experience and help of a social worker.

Homelessness is a growing problem both nationally and locally in Massachusetts. There are around 2000 families living in state-funded motels in addition to over 1000 in shelters across Massachusetts each night. It's a huge problem. Our church cannot tackle all of it. But we are striving to work with Friends of the Homeless to help one family at a time.

Your donation to Home with Friends will go directly to funding services and a decreasing rental assistance for a homeless family. Thank you for helping!

If your church community might be interested in being a Home with Friends church, send Pastor Jeremy an email and he'll connect you with the right person at Friends of the Homeless.
